Teen Alliance
The Teen Alliance Program provides comprehensive support for teen girls, ages 14-20, who are currently part of the foster care system. It is designed to provide stability to these girls who have a history of instability and frequent placement changes in traditional and relative foster care. These teens are at a critical life stage in which their choices and actions directly affect their ability to obtain self-sufficiency and success for future independence. Providing stability is crucial for success in areas such as education, life skills, interpersonal skills and emotional development.
The program uses a group mentoring model to help teach life skills and to provide guidance on important issues of self-sufficiency, long term health and wellness, and relationship development. In addition, the program assists the young women with basic employment skills in areas such as keyboard and computers, communications and conflict resolution.
